Airplane!

So I'm sitting in the kitchen with my son in the height chair feeding him dinner. He looks outside and proudly stats swinnnnng and slide. I said thats right buddy there is your swing and slide. He looks at me and says outside. I respond sorry buddy it's to cold out today.  He continues to eat his noodles then looks up quite excited and yells AIRPLANE! AIRPLANE! I say where buddy there is no airplane and he responds back with AIRPLANE.

I was a bit perplexed but said ok honey and he finished dinner and after some playing and bath I put him to sleep.

When my husband got home I asked him if he had the same experience the day before when he was feeding him dinner he said yes. It turned out what Nicholas thought was an airplane was an old style TV antenna on the top of one of the neighbors houses. At dinner time the sun hits the antenna just right so it looks like an airplane in the distance.

What a smartie pant I got!

Scale Topper

Yesterday morning I felt it was time.. I had not stepped on the scale in I don't know how long. My pants are feeling a little tight and I hate it when I feel like my gut is trying to escape over the top of my jeans. I don't like to wear forming shirts because I see this roll under the shirt and I become disgusted with myself. I took my clothes off to get in the shower and got up the nerve to step on the scale. I looked down with one eye and I see 135 blinking back at me. But it wasn't just blinking.. it was screaming stop being lazy you fat ass..

To those of you reading saying, OH my god I wish I was 135 lbs, keep in mind I am only 4'11, so for me it's heavy. In my life I topped the scales at 152 when I was pregnant. During non-pregnant adult life, my heaviest was 145 and my lightest was 110. (For me adult life is over 21) At 110lbs, looking back at pictures I think wow I looked so hot but it's very hard for me to maintain. I was running then and lifting weights 4-5 times a week. I was single and no kiddies of course so I could devote the time to it.

I had hit 145 my senior year in college, school was stressful, my mom was dying of cancer and I just didn't care. About two years after I graduated my elder sister was diagnosed with colon cancer at 29 yrs old. It was a wake up call for me. I needed to get the weight off and be healthy again.

After I got married I think I fell into what many couples do. You get comfortable with your spouse and situation and don't feel the pressure to be so thin.  I started to put a little weight on and before I got pregnant I was weighing in at about 125. After my son was born I did really good for awhile and I got back down to 125. But then after that first holiday season since his birth I just lost my motivation and have been slowly putting the pounds back on. Now I find myself at 135 - dangerously close to that 145 I once was.

It's time.... I need to get fit.....
Help me...................

2001 145 lbs

2003 115 lbs

2007 back up to around 132

Magic Number

So my mother in law must have told me a million times wait till he hits 18 months and he will just start talking away that is the magic number. "Ok Mom", I would say just to humor her. But it's funny because it seems like my son's vocabulary went from ten words to all words. He will pretty much say just about anything you ask him to say now and every day it is getting clearer and clearer. Ok so I suppose I better clean my own mouth out with soap before he says something to his Nana that he is not suppose to.

We went for a family walk not long ago. A family walk includes , Mommy , Daddy Nicholas, Pepper and Tacoma our two huskies. Tacoma stopped to drop his business and my husband sarcastically said Awesome, right afterwards Nick said Awesome with the lisp like Daffy Duck. We cracked up.

Just last night as I sat him on the potty before his path he started to notice the two hemangiomas he has on either side of his tummy. I told them they are Strawberries and immediately he goes MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. I almost fell over I was laughing so hard.

Can't wait to find out what he will say tomorrow!

Our Earth

So the other day I am taking the car to get serviced and I am behind a mini van, suddenly something white comes flying at my windshield and it startled me. Turned out it was just a wad of tissues or napkins. But it starteled the heck out of me. Next came a cigarette butt, then finally a plastic soda bottle. Realizing that these people were using the highway as thier personal trash can I decided I was going to get thier license plate number and report them. I was successfully able to get it but I was a bit disappointed when I called the local police department. When I talked to the dispatcher I said I wanted to report someone throwing trash out thier car window. I could hear her muffling laughter and it started to really anger me. Thier are signs up and down the highway that say 300 dollar fine for littering. Honestly, normally I would not take the trouble to call but when I saw the plastic bottle come out it really ticked me off. I really wish that if all of us just took a few simple measures we could improve our planet rather then destroy it. I'm assuming these people have kids since they were in a mini van and I thought what a bad example they are sending to thier family...

Tempurature Tips

So the little guy has some boogers and is a little bit under the weather. Infact I am feeling a bit under the weather myself.. yet again.. but anyway so today he felt warm and I was trying to get his temperature. I don't think I have every successfully taken his temperature. I got out the ear thermometer and tried to take it with that as it only needs to be in place for about 3 seconds. I couldn't get the thing in deep enough without him freaking out. So I guess his ears are probably a bit sensitive with the cold. I got a reading of 95 degrees. Yeah thats not right!

So I got out the regular digital thermometer and put it under his arm. He wouldn't stay still long enough for this one as it feels like it takes 20 minutes to get a freaking reading. It was out of his arm before it beeped. So again not a successful take. Last attempt, I put the thermometer in his groin and held his legs up so it would be there nice and tight. I tried talking to him and kissing him alot and being silly so he wouldn't mind me holding his legs. You guessed it. I couldn't keep it the entire time and the back started arching and the legs went fling. No good reading here either!

I haven't tried the hiney. A friend of mine suggested trying when he is asleep. My son is 18 months old.

How do you guys get a good reading?

What would you do?

So many of you probably remember my What would you do? entry. Well I have another update for you. Over the weekend hubby and I took our little Nick for a walk. As we approached the house of the foul mouthed family we noticed the bedroom window was open. The three little boys who live their where looking at the window and yelling "hi baby" to our son. We were a little concerned that the boys may fall as there was no screen in the window. It would be about a six foot fall as the houses are ranchers. As the boys were yelling my husband waved at them. Then we heard the mom yelling at the boys saying, "Get off my bed Assholes". Following that we heard someone say, "Who the hell do you think you are yelling out the F'ing window". Then the Grandmother came outside and closed the window from the outside. Muttering things under her breath.

Again I am heart broken. I'm wondering what it is going to be like this spring when the weather is nice. What will I hear then?
